What an amazing thread you started, Crowdance. Such an upsetting experience for you and Mrs. Crow -- and others here who have literally been hounded and persecuted. :hug:

For what it's worth, I agree with the person who suggested taking cookies to the fire department to show that you are the "sane neighbors." Fire fighters always appreciate being remembered by the community they serve. I would find that easier to do than going across the fence with a peace offering to your unpleasant neighbors, but if you can manage that, more power to you because it really is a blessed act. In my mind it's always best to start with peace before progressing to legal battles -- if possible.

However, just about simultaneously with those actions I would file a complaint with the DA or whoever about the false fire alarm made by the neighbors. Best to get that on the record. If "live and let live" becomes the rule of the 'hood, all well and good; but if further troubles ensue and you have to escalate your response, at least your version of events will be on record.
