This letter tapped into my own feelings tonight, after reading the memos at the DLC criticizing Murtha, Pelosi, and Dean. This letter touched me because so many people are discouraged from speaking out.

Pomeroy doesn't speak for all Dems

The Forum and Congressman Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., would have you believe that if you are against the war you can’t be a moderate Democrat. Both couldn’t be further from the truth.

Pomeroy voted against the will of almost all Democrats when he and way too many other Democrats gave Bush the go ahead for the most ridiculous war. I’m a moderate and I’m against the war 1,000 percent. The notion that if you disagree with this most horrible administration you are some extreme lefty liberal is purely asinine.

Pomeroy plays right into the hands of the Republicans, as does the entire Democratic party. I for one am sick and tired of it. And I’m hardly alone. The polls favor my assessment by far.

Every single poll will show you that the vast majority of America agrees with Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean’s way of thinking. He has been the only consistent, truthful, blunt and honest Democrat for the past many years. He’s the greatest thing to happen to the Democrats. But they are all too stupid to see it. Had he been our nominee, we wouldn’t have Bush and wouldn’t have a fraction of the problems we have now. Gov. Dean ran his state of Vermont as a moderate. He did so very successfully and very conservatively for 12 years.

Pomeroy said, “Dean wasn’t representing Democrats when speaking about the war.” Pomeroy and the entire Democratic Party are not representing Democrats anywhere period. And I’m a moderate! I don’t believe in extremes anywhere. The assertion that North Dakota Democrats have to cater to Republicans to win is obviously very valid but flawed. When are they ever going to represent the Democrats?

We might as well just lie down and give everything to the Republicans. Oh wait, too late. That happened a long long time ago. Thank God for Chairman Dean, the only one who truly stands up to the worst administration in history. I’m so proud to represent him and Democracy for America here in North Dakota.

I know how this guy feels. I am a moderate who has been called a fringe lefty loony by my own party. Just because I have felt this was a wrong war. Because I hate their excuses for it. Scott speaks for me.
