Why do they set precedents that only benefit them now, but could work against them in the future? When the Dems retake the House and Senate, what's to stop them from simply following the precedent the Republicans set? This applies to so much of their strategy; if Bush can declare a unilateral, unprovoked war, why not a Dem? If Bush can wiretap Americans without authorization, why not a Dem? If Cheney can hold secret energy meetings and withold any information about them, why not a Dem? The list goes on and on, but I don't know how they're going to react to Democrats with power doing this to them.
