but they thought they were mocking how the public perceives them. Kind of a snake eating its own tail.

We just confused WHAT they're mocking (themselves) with that perception. There is an essay response here - but basically you are right that police view "civilians" as different from themselves for reasons most civilians can't comprehend, and "civilians" view police as something most police officers don't get for reasons most seasoned police officers can't escape, namely, only bad news makes the news.

Nobody here has given any good examples of good cops. What does that mean? Can't think of any? Didn't remember any? There aren't any?

It shouldn't be illegal on DU to challenge this thinking and approach it more critically.
