So about this San Francisco police film "scandal"

I am just blown away that we have Reno 911, Mad TV, Saturday Night Live and Comedy Central spoofs that are absolutely no different in theme or material than those videos with the exception of production values, and yet these guys are getting vilified for mocking themselves by the same people who laugh at Reno 911 and MadTV. What the fuck?

I just can't believe this double standard - it's mind boggling.

Am I missing something in my thinking? The news shows the clip of a homeless person getting run over. It repeatedly does NOT show the aftermath with the homeless person sitting up and flipping off the police car. The news could equally make any of the other "mainstream" Comedy Central comedic efforts look equally anti-minority and bigoted, yet nobody is drawing the parallel that the POINT is that police know how they are perceived and these guys were having fun with that perception.

I'm not sorry to say that I support them and think it's pure bullshit and overreaction on the part of San Francisco, the chief of police, and the mayor be so intolerant . . . . and the national media!. . . . . to be in an uproar over it. There have got to be more worthy battles to mess one's panties over.

Bring it.
