145. We are not all nice.
I guess, lol. I have known some major assholes in music but no more than in the horse business or the farm business or anything else. It has to be this way for them though, they have to sing and sing all the time like I have to practice all the time, even something I have played before, it is just the way it is.

Opera people are different. My brother was one. He did not sing but conducted and accompanied and produced and directed. He was the nicest man I have ever known but totally consumed by it because he had to be to get the best performance possible. He was the one who taught me about it and I miss visiting him and going to as many as we can. I have played in Opera orchestras on a few occasions and it was by far the most consuming job I ever had. Know how much I got paid? About $20 a day for around 8 hours of work. Opera chorus people get nothing in most cases, or at least that is what it was several years ago, NOTHING for all that time and work. It is a killer so my best advice is don't date opera people, god knows I wouldn't but I love them.

Can we make a little peace here? I hate this contentious stuff but I get all fired up and on and on I go, I was going to sleep about an hour ago and here I am. Please don't hold us all to the standards set by your former friends. We do know what we are talking about but normally this is the last thing I would ever be talking about. I love that you love music. Hell, I paid $200 to go see the Stones for the 3rd time. Nothing better than feeling it bounce in your chest and jumping up and down and being all into it. Been to a lot of concerts like that and I love it. Fact is it is a different beast than other music in many ways, not lesser but different and much simpler. I just simply found White Stripes to be laughable partly because between the first time I heard them and now I see no progress in the music and I find it stilted. My opinion only.

Peace? Please, this old lady has to go to rehearsal tomorrow and I have to sleep lol.

BTW, I am with you on liberalism, treatment of animals and National health care...I think there might have been one more but I simply can't remember.
