Hasn't the interview segment of TDS (what probably pays for it to be on the air) always been 90% this? Is there some functional or philosophical difference between interviewing every actor pimping their new movie (including utter crap like Garfield)...every author pushing a book etc? Because even 90% of the politicians and pundits that come on for interview are only doing it as part of the circuit for selling whatever it is they are selling.

A musicial act isn't any different. The one small difference was they played on the set...which I think is just the equivalent of TDS showing a clip from the latest jennifer garner movie (which they did).

Or have I missed some new and evil facet of what's going on?
