Could it possibly be that by being educated in it they actually understand music? There is way more to it that you can even comprehend it seems. I am not calling you stupid nor am I being an elitist, it is a fact. People spend their entire lives learning it, it is vast. I love all kinds of music from the stupid (Carpenters, yes I said it) to the sublime Ariadne auf Naxos because I UNDERSTAND it. You speak of something you do not understand. You enjoy it at the level of most people and that is fine but it does not make you expert enough to trash what other people love and spend their lives working at.

Those friends dropped you didn't they? It is tough to work as hard as they did to have it trashed constantly by someone who has not a clue. Your music can be understood by the masses, nothing wrong with that, but there is a vast world of all different kinds of music and all different kinds of people who love it and work at it constantly. You do not seem to understand that it is much much more than you are aware of. Give it a rest and please stop insulting people when you do not understand what you are talking about.
