about...he used to be Chief of the Forest Service, and before that he was the head person at the BLM. He was a good FS chief, too....very much into long-term considerations in public land management, not at all the quick profit and damn-the-consequences sort of manager. It was regrettable that he left but that position is now political and changes with whomever is in the Administration. We must stop this odious putrid evil somehow. This is way over the line, a much bigger and closer-to-home issue than even the Iraq war, for me anyway.
