64. Suppose that ordinary citizens
Edited on Thu Oct-13-05 04:23 AM by symbolman
decided to have a "Neighborhood Civil Patrol" group. This is sheer conjecture of course. But if this Group of let's say Veterans and regular folks decided that just in case "terrorists" were to come into their area in Heavy Numbers, and heavily armed that this Neighborhood group had some sort of plan to protect each city block, or ten city blocks from attacks..

Sort of like USA Patriots against possible "terrorist" infiltration.

What if that group in every part of the country was prepared in the event of a "terrorist" invasion, wouldn't that be a good idea?

I mean back in the Cold War days as a kid we have Civil Patrol guys, usually older men who would run around and tell people to douse lights, or get into their bunkers/basements so that we could protect our areas from attack.

I personally own a gun, and I'd be damned if I'd let a group of mauraders invade my area, and I've had some military training, and it would seem that as an American Patriot in times of peril it wouldn't matter if you were a republican or a liberal with a weapon - the point would be to protect your area against attacks by of course "terrorists".

I wonder if there would be some way to organize something like that down to the last city block, maybe with communication folks (handheld ham radios work really good) to assist in proper deployment of Home Field "Vigilantes", like the ones that got the Govt nod to protect the borders - if we can do that with citizens in our cities and rural areas, suburbs and small towns.

I mean I don't think Bush is going to protect us, which he's shown as late, and if the police get too busy then we should be prepared to protect ourselves maybe with some Veterans to lead us plain old citizens should the need arise.

What if the "terrorists" dressed up just like our own troops to effect an attack? How would we know?

Perhaps we'd be of great help to the Troops quartered in our homes - of course we should always act in complete accord and compliance with the Constitution, that's what Bush swore to -- but to be honest, when I joined the military, I swore to uphold the oath to protect America from enemies "within and without" I meant every word of it.

I would hope that Bush would have some plan to protect us, but perhaps we as citzens should have one JUST IN CASE something goes wrong.

Look at NO, even the cops were on a rampage - a citizen's minuteman brigade in every sector of the United States may be in order.

Within the scope of all laws, of course, but if the world suddenly became "lawless" we might all need to protect each other and band together to do it, why not in advance?

Even the Boy Scouts like to "be prepared".. :)
