65. Courage and Wisdom to Change....
....through the most painful medium there is -- loss of a child in an unjust and criminal war.

Thanks, UL, you've got it right. Cindy Sheehan is in the same league with the other "Power of One" legends who live in our memory because of their stubborn refusal to shut up and go away.

I've spent some time thinking about people who have sent their children to die in this war, and have felt that *I* knew it was all a lie, and how could they support this criminal regime! Cindy Sheehan's strongest attribute may be the very fact that she has *changed* any support she may have earlier felt (the support was for her son, not this government)to criticism born of having her eyes opened by painful facts.

I remember that, some time ago, I held some very strong feelings against one Arianna Huffington for her support of Republican idealogy, in particular the right-wing vendetta against Bill Clinton. Today, she's an icon of hope for me because she *changed her mind* and began to act on her new perceptions. And I've changed my mind about some things, too; to wit, the idea that the Clintons were merely victims. While still feeling that Bill Clinton was a good president, given events which have followed his presidency, I've come to see that in some ways, they all work for the same boss, and We the People need to become our own army of "Rosa Parks" in order to take back the power that rightfully and constitutionally belongs to us.
