32. Usually I feel pretty good. Not so much today.
I live in Georgia, and sometimes the scale of the task at hand is overwhelming, but today I think it was the contrast between the Durbin comment/apology and the Rove comment/non-apology that just made me realize how much work we have to do.

Their guys are allowed to make a mistake (a LOT of mistakes!) because they do such a good job of selling the ideology. A mistake here and there isn't going to dissuade anybody. We, on the other hand, don't sell our ideology so we end up relying on our candidates/leaders to define us, which means any mistake they make is magnified. Anybody who considers themselves "centrist", 'objective", "middle of the road", has nothing to hang their hat on with us, and a mistake -yes a mistake- like Durbins' costs us.

But in 10 years, I'll either still be working to bring the message to the people, or living in France rooting from the sidelines.

Our grassroots is beaten and battered, withered and weak. We must rebuild it.
