Sheehan made me cry, any many statements to her from Congressmen made me cry. McGovern, Wilson and Bonifaz were eloquent, succint and passionate. Conyers and his fellow Congressmen demonstrated true statesmanship. I was particularly moved by Sheila Jackson Lee.... fellow Texan(not my district, but I am proud of her) and her statements. It truly was a good start to the inquiry. I think a lot of information and analysis was exchanged.
What truly disturbs me is this, Congresswoman of Ohio pointed out in the end of the forum and Conyers states here: At approximately 2:15 PM, the Republicans scheduled 11 consecutive floor votes, lasting until approximately 4 PM. This is unprecedented in my memory, and if we had allowed it to, it could have ruined the hearing. But a hearty group of Democratic Members helped me carry on, and we were able to continue the hearings through the votes by essentially taking turns running back and forth to the House floor.
this IS OBSTRUCTIONISM. Our Congressmen should not stand for this and should make sure to point this out to the MEDIA and to the PUBLIC every chance they get. Absolutely DISGUSTING. But they managed to get around this and comport themselves as statesmen, I was very proud.
