Three Billion New Capitalists: The Great Shift of Wealth and Power to the East
Clyde Prestowitz

Clyde Prestowitz argues that America may be headed toward an "economic 9/11." In his new book, "Three Billion New Capitalists," Mr. Prestowitz details China and India's new focus on capitalism and the threat they pose to Western economic domination. The author cites the Internet and large amounts of American consumption as other factors for the deterioration of the dollar. This event was hosted by the Carnegie Council's Merrill House in New York City.

Author Bio: Clyde Prestowitz was a counselor to the Secretary of Commerce in the Reagan Administration. He is President of the Economic Strategy Institute in Washington, DC and the author of "Trading Places" and "Rogue Nation."
