Today Fox News has added a new sound effect to the many sound effects that they already use. A teletype sound effect is now being used in transitions between one of their clips, or on screen models, and another. Will this mean less use of the whoosh sound effect, or does it mean that more overall air time will be taken up by sound effects? Their use of the bell sound effect seems to be unaffected. How important does the news have to be to get a bell, a whoosh, and a teletype sound? http://www.cjr.org/issues/2003/3/sound-engstrom.asp
