Reno, Nevada does get snow in the winter, and this season we've received a great deal more snow than we typically get. I need the 4-wheel drive for what little extra control it gives on snow/ice (one still needs to take it slow and easy in wet conditions; never fall into the trap of believing 4x4's have super-duper abilities) and also the clearance from the bottom of the vehicle to the top of what snow has fallen. Few things worse than bottoming-out your vehicle and getting stuck, much worse than simply getting a wheel stuck.
