10. That's why people need to TELL others things like this...
so many of our friends/associates/co-workers/relatives are not "news junkies" as some of us are. So those people miss a lot--unless a story is really hyped up, it gets past them.

And needless to say, this business of the real, documented, fairly close, connection btw the Bush family and the Hinckley family was hushed up.

I always "knew" that John Hinckley came from an influential family. I didn't know anything in particular about his parents, but I just "knew" they had to have money and influence. I just sensed this, b/c I always watched with amazement how Hinckley escaped any real punishment, and has been leniently dealt with. It seems clear to me that the Hinckleys' association with the Bushes has much to do with the fact that John Hinckley received little or no punishment for what he did.

And, I mean, look at Sirhan Sirhan. Or look at Sarah Jane Moore and Squeaky Fromme--I don't think either one of them is getting out of jail, even though their offenses were in the 70's. As with Hinckley, their victim (Ford) didn't die, either. So why the different treatment for Hinckley?
