that if something like this were to happen, a major reason would be to instill nationwide martial law, setup the draft, etc..

The Neo-Cons in these Washington think tanks are not dumb, they understand the principles outlined by Dr. Bartlett.

One way or the other there will be a population crash in the not too distant future, and the quality of life for those who remain (at least in the western world) will diminish. Control of the remainder of the world's oil reserves is the name of the game now, at ANY cost.
