You don't do your job by renting a place at ground zero "for fellow officers to rest in" and turn it into your own private love nest. That's inappropriate behavior and bespeaks a much larger issue.

If you can believe any Republican, Bill Clinton was impeached because he lied to the American public about his own illicit affair. Many felt he should not be allowed to continue as president because of it.

I see no difference in any other public official being passed over for a promotion -- ESPECIALLY for a position like Secretary of Homeland Security -- for the very same behavior.
