5. I worked with Tommy Franks in Korea
he commanded the 2nd Infantry Division while I was there.

The man was a good military commander, but a little bit of a nut too. He was well known for giving speeches at ceremonies without any preparation or notes (and we had a LOT of ceremonies there, battalion and brigade commanders would change out regularly).

A favorite quote from one of his speeches.... "Thanks for being who you are, thanks for doing what you do, and thanks for not being limp."

He was also known for being on the golf course every day by 4.
