I found it interesting you said you feel "confused because I dont feel the same closeness for my country"

I was thinking that as I returned home from work this evening. I've always been a bit outside the "norm" but I always thought we as a country wanted the same basic things. As I was driving and looking at all the cars and the houses and businesses all I could think was, I don't understand my country any more. I can't believe my very core values are so out of sync with the rest of this country. How is that possible? How, when did that happen?
