8. Equivalent fable from India -- with a twist
In the Indian version, there's a bunch of monkeys running around and frolicking and having fun as the birds work hard to build their snug, waterproof nests. When the rainy season comes, the birds stay warm and dry, while the monkeys are left huddling at the foot of the tree, very wet and miserable.

The birds taunt the monkeys, saying, "See, if you'd been looking ahead and making provision the way we were, you wouldn't be in such a fix now."

Hearing this, the monkeys get really, really pissed, and shake the tree until all the nests fall to the ground and the eggs break and the birds are less homeless.
