WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Christian Coalition of America strongly agrees with Senator Elizabeth Dole, (R-NC), when she said in her speech at the Republican National Convention that the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion, not freedom from religion." Senator Dole went on to say, "The right to worship God isn't something Republicans invented, but it is something Republicans will defend." Dole cited John 10:10 as she said, "Two thousand years ago, a man said, 'I have come to give life and to give it in full.' In America, I have the freedom to call that man Lord, and I do."
The President of Christian Coalition of America, Roberta Combs said, "I am very pleased that during these critical times America is going through, President George W. Bush, as he has done throughout his first term, has emphasized faith throughout his convention this week. As President Bush said last year, 'Events aren't moved by blind change and chance. Behind all of life and all of history, there's a dedication and purpose, set by the hand of a just and faithful God'."
Christian Coalition has a strong presence at the Republican convention in New York City this week and numerous media interviews are being done. Christian Coalition has many national delegates represented at the convention including a number of Christian Coalition State Chairmen. Many activists are also on the Platform, Rules and Arrangements Committees and many attended Tuesday's "Faith, Family and Freedom Rally". Over the years Christian Coalition has trained hundreds of thousands of activists, in both parties, who are active in the political process.
The Christian Coalition of America is America's largest Christian grassroots organization with more than 2 million supporters. The organizations website may be referenced at:
