I read your note, and had thought of answering some of the points you raised, but that merely continues what is not necessary. Despite the tone of the past couple of notes, I will say that your American Judas was a wonderful paper, and something you should be proud of. I think it was a fantastic piece of work. Because I'm not impressed with the 9-11 business will never take away from my admiration of that good work.

On the "holy war" issue .... I think you don't get it. But I don't feel any need to try to explain it. What is very clear to one person may not be very clear to another. I said that to say this: another person who you get along with e-mailed me and said (s)he felt bad that there was hostility between us. I explained that I don't feel hostility towards you, and am confident that although you are in your early 30s today, that in the future .... perhaps 20 years from now .... at some point something will click. It won't be anything important, and it won't alter your life. But you'll perhaps think, "aha, that's what that old fool was talking about."

And perhaps not. But either way, I only have favorable thoughts about you. And I have certainly thought that it was possible that the power elite in our country had a big role in 9-11. I've studied it, and came away with a very different opinion.

I'd like to think that in the screen-play, this is where I reach out to shake hands before we part ways. Because I do like you, and admire much of the work you've done.
