34. Dem does not necessarily mean one supports gay rights.
I was on the bus after work Monday night and a couple of black women were talking about their church holding a rally in support of Amendment 2. While these women are anti Bush they are VERY conservative socially. This is something Dems forget and forgot yesterday when many assumed that with a higher Dem turnout Amendment 2 would fail. I know this was what people felt because I had Dem organizers say it to my face. I quickly countered that argument because I don't travel only in activist circles. I am on public transit and I hear what people say and were saying about Amendment 2. F'in fundy Christians!

Sad sad day for progressive thinking Missourians. I have to get over my intense anger because one of my co-workers told me yesterday she was not voting because she did not research the issues. I said to her that it shouldn't take much research to know that one did not want to enshrine hate into the state constitution via Amendment 2. She didn't care, she said the summer just got away from her and she didn't have time. Sure she had time to go to stupid baseball games but not time to vote...

FURIOUS!
