- Critical patch for Internet Explorer -
Oxygen3 24h-365d, by Panda Software (http://www.pandasoftware.com)

Madrid, August 21, 2003 - Microsoft has released an accumulative security patch that also fixes two new vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer 5.01, 5.5, 6.0 and Internet Explorer 6.0 for Windows Server 2003. The first flaw lies in the security model that prevents windows of different domains from sharing information. This security hole could allow a malicious website to access data in the My computer zone via the Internet. As a result, an attacker would be able to run the scripts and programs installed on the local computer and access the information it stored.

The second vulnerability, classified as critical, allows a web server to run arbitrary code on the users' computers by marking any object as secure by modifying the Content-Type header. If this vulnerability were exploited successfully, a web server would be able to force programs to be run remotely in the computers of the users that visited a certain web page.

These patches can be automatically installed through the following service: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ or downloaded from the following addresses, depending on the version:

- All versions (except IE 6.0 for Windows Server 2003): http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/822925/default.asp

- Internet Explorer 6.0 and Windows Server 2003: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/822925s/default.asp

NOTE: The addresses above may not show up on your screen as single lines. This would prevent you from using the links to access the web pages. If this happens, just use the 'cut' and 'paste' options to join the pieces of the URL.
