4. Closer attention is needed
The attacks have not dimiminished, just fatalities. Several American servicemen have been wounded; they were lucky not to get killed. I'll see if I can't dig up some links -- this was mentioned on CNN this morning.

Wounded people don't play as well on TV as dead people, though.

Oh, and if the attacks ARE dropping off, I'll be happy, regardless of what it does to Bush's poll numbers.
