but that doesn't mean the "story" isn't true. I work for a big news organization and we too get memos on questions of style. Especially during the war.

I suppose some orgs are more demanding about content than others up front. There are so many filters though, that every script winds up being sanitized down to near-nothingness before it gets on air.

My advice: read a lot of different sources and don't swallow any of them unquestioningly.

TBR is one of the more radical sources, and I would suspend judgement on anything it prints--I can't use it for anyhting except my own entertainment, frankly.
