1. At the risk of being pounced upon for being hysterical,
the conservatives in 1920s Germany thought they could control the NSDAP, and liked the way their rallies could stir up the populace, figuring it gave them an edge in the Reichstag.

I wonder who thinks they are in control of the Teabaggers and Beck?
