he wants to send others to do his killing for him, from long distances, with bombs and missiles, so no one ever has to see what was done to the people slaughtered. Detached destruction. Anonymous death. War in a modified business suit, conducted 9 to 5 if possible, preferably against a people he knows nothing about and about whom he has no curiosity. Death on the Installment Plan, to borrow a phrase from Celine.
