3. More "news you can use" from the Washington Post

It's actually impressive how far this once venerable paper has fallen. They've basically become a laughingstock among intelligent folks- they're really not much better than a tabloid.

This statement, for example:

"First, there are probably more mountain lions in the continental United States now than before European settlement (more than 31,000, by one recent estimate)."

That's an outright lie. Absolutely no basis in fact whatsoever. The reporter just made it up and the editor printed it!

Even John Stossel could do better than that.

The rest of the article is also alarming- as it seems to lend some credence through mention of the midwestern nutcases with their black helicopters and state government conspiracies.

Everytime I read articles like this, it becomes clearer to me just how richly Americans deserve the economic and environmental disasters that are going to befall them in the next decade.
