18. The problem is we get Republican policy either way.
By constantly giving in to the crazy, there's not much difference in policy outcome between Obama giving in and a Republican driving the policy.

That slight difference is crucial, but you have to be tuned in all the time to politics to know the difference is there. And the average voter isn't tuned in. They just know the economy sucks and Obama's in charge while it sucks.
