147. I care
I've lived in the Upstate of SC for going on 23 years and find it depressing that so many would make me a refugee. While we've got way more than our fair share of christofacsist dingbats a lot of the regular folks are in fact redeemable by the left if only they were given a reason. The so-called wise have told us forever that in the end pocketbook issues decide elections. If the economic portion of the Kucinich program were adopted by the Democratic Party perhaps this state and others in the South wouldn't be a given for the enemy.
But the Dems offer little for the working class economically while the repubs offer all sorts of candy to whip up the committed social conservatives. No, we should not abandon our progressive social agenda for a few votes but these people must have a positive reason to vote Democratic and New Deal style economics is the ticket.
So when these christofacsist take over this place(too small to be a nation, too large to be an insane asylum) remember the lost opportunities.
