98. I teach in a large high school of more than 3500 enrollment. You think
some kids are ridiculed now?

Can't wait to see the "classy" kids pour out their drink on the floor, and say, "Hey, janitor-boy? Clean that UP before you get fired!"

High school is not cruel enough already for those without proper clothes, the neat accessories, a phone of latest design, clear complexion, expensive haircut?

In addition, 85% of the students here qualify for free or reduced lunch, and there are 4 janitors to clean five buildings scattered across 6 city blocks. 3 of those janitors don't deserve to keep their jobs to support their families in this lousy economy?

Paper routes and mowing lawns have a couple of things in common - they can be begun or quit at leisure, and neither is performed in the company and service of other kids.

One last thought - which will have priority - mopping somebody's puke right now or going to science lab?
