They never HAD undisputed control. It was always shaky with Lieberman, and some seriously Blue Dogs.
They just have to work smarter right now. Wake-up call came, and they have to get down to some serious business. If they had had such undisputed control a stronger bill would have already passed.

Media downmouthing in part.
Media wanting the drama to go on...just needs some SMART action...and less whining.
