She's a political whorehouse madame and pusher.

That's why she's lying about what is contained in the story--because she knows that her base won't read. They won't fire up their computer and go on the internet to google the story. They won't go to the website of the newspaper and listen to the entire interview. They're the same idiots who mainlined fear for the last 8 years and they're in the throes of the DT's, jonsing for their fix--and she is their pusher. She is happy to push the drug of fear for them.
