Islamist Kurds who were causing major headaches for the PUK and KDP. After we invaded Iraq did we ever follow up on their alleged dabbling in chem/bio weapons? It's my understanding that many of them were eliminated, and the rest likely fled over the border into Iran. I always thought the whole thing sounded like a flimsy pretext to somehow, someway link chem/bioweapons with Iraq, since none were being found under Saddam's jurisdiction. Did they every find any hard evidence on the ground? Wouldn't they have played it up if there was any?
