I think the answer is yes.

If it was a genuine mistake by a genuine computer technician, then I think the Republicans may be guilty (in this specific instance) only of not having a squeaky clean character or not being utterly honest and forthright. Few would ignore the chance if the computer files of their opposition were wide open, if one believes that the opposition is a threat.

On the other hand, if the Republicans actively participated in MAKING the files open (by bribing the technician or hacking or something similar), it's an entirely different story.
