I agree with your general point: Bush's installation in 2001 was a shameless breach of constitutional order and the Democratic congress rolled over and let it happen. Hopefully the subsequent six years of hideous abuse of power has nurtured enough spine for our leaders to actually at least try to preserve the republic.
