42. Yeah, I wondered that, too. Not necessarily about the condition of the
housing market so much, but the AMAZING coincidence of buying this nice, big mansion in nice, nearby Maryland. Nearby to where? Washington DC. Why would he need a house near there, when he already has the Naval Observatory, and his slew of bunkers and other assorted "undisclosed locations"? Was he anticipating that he'd need a place to flop after he was indicted/resigned out of there but still wanted to be close enough to where the action is so he can still pull strings and manipulate the li'l puppet easily. I mean, if he wants a nice home, what's wrong with his allleged home state of Wyoming?

I think you're correct - probably was desperate to lock something in, quickly, so lynnie-baby could get it all decorated and ready for move-in day after his frog-march. Yeah. Just seemed funny to me, too. After all, if everything was on the up-n-up, why was he looking for a new house? Shouldn't he have been all nice and cozy and cocky in the Vice Presidential residence - I mean, he had another three years on his lease. One would think the time to go house-hunting for dick and lynne wouldn't be until late 2008, no?
