211. Very interesting, Nigel - Thank you and Welcome to DU!
Could you comment further on both? I did a cursory Wikipedia search and found both topics very interesting and timely.

You point to the Bonus Army of 1932 which was a massive protest over veteran's benefits and led, years later, to the GI Bill of Rights, and to the legend of Boadicea (Boudicca), a Celtic warrior woman who led a tribal army and fought occupying Roman forces.

Wikipedia entries:

Bonus Army

Boudicca (Boadicea)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boadicea

"A new film is planned for release in 2006 entitled Warrior <4>, written by Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal, directed by Gavin O'Connor, and produced by Mel Gibson."

Warrior (2006 movie about Boudica) site:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0409457/

"Plot Outline: A drama about the warrior Boudica and her rise from peasant roots to become a military leader who led Britain against the Romans in 61 A.D., and who was posthumously crowned the first queen of the empire."
