2. A mini-terror alert that plays for sympathy
Edited on Wed May-18-05 01:39 PM by rocknation
Everybody's talking about Galloway, ignoring Laura's Mideast trip, and seeing through the Newsweek smear, so they have to dust this off.
The explosive...wrapped in a dark...handkerchief, was tossed into a crowd...within 100 feet of a stage where (Bush) was speaking...

Bush was not aware of the incident, and the Secret Service said at the time that the president's security detail didn't know about it until informed by Georgian authorities two hours after the president left the country.

But as long as as they insist on bringing it up:
  • How does anyone know the grenade was thrown unless the throwing was witnessed? Why couldn't it have just been accidentally dropped, or deliberately placed, on the floor?

  • If the throwing of the grenade WAS witnessed, why wasn't Bush's speech stopped immediately and the grenade retrieved?
  • If the grenade landed or was placed within of 100 feet of the stage, is it realistic to conclude that Bush was the intended target?
  • If the grenade was wrapped in a handkerchief, is it realistic to conclude that it was EXPECTED to explode?

Either someone took what they knew was a dead grenade, wrapped it up, and left it on the floor of the venue (which I am certainly NOT endorsing), or the Bush White House made the whole thing up.
