7. That's not what we're talking about
No one's talking about tearing down the Hoover dam or any other massive ones like that. Many dams that environmentalists are advocating tearing down are small ones, old, outdated and producing limited amounts of electricity. Many of these very kinds of dams have been torn down in the East over the past decade because they aren't worth the upkeep. Removal of the dams can increase the value of the area to fishermen and other sportsmen as well, increasing cash flow into the local communities.
