I don't know how effective this will be with the Repugs in carge but it's a start
U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee is holding a public forum Thursday in Shoreline that will address whether a congressional investigation is needed into U.S. intelligence in Iraq. The forum precedes by one day President George W. Bush's visit to the Seattle area, and the Washington Democrat is co-sponsoring a bill to create an independent commission to conduct an inquiry into intelligence failures on Iraq.
Inslee has invited U.S. Ambassador Joseph Wilson, the last American diplomat to meet with Saddam Hussein, as a guest speaker. Wilson investigated the British report of Iraq's attempt to buy uranium in Africa, and found the report inaccurate -- Bush nevertheless referred to the report in his State of the Union address as evidence of Iraq's intention to create weapons of mass destruction.
