The Zionist started the war by ethnically cleansing the Arabs. That is why the Palestinians were in the neighboring countries. They didn't leave voluntarily - that's ridiculous.
Almost all of the fighting occurred in the territory that was designated for the Palestinians; so if you claim that the UN (illegal) partition had any legitimacy, then you must accept that it was the Zionists that attacked Palestine.
