134. Actually only short about 900 billion
Provided we take in more than we spend we can gradually pay down the 13 trillion debt over time. Every reduction in the debt should generate interest savings, which should only go to pay down the debt, no tax holidays.

Part of this extra 900 billion will happen when the economy picks up, the rest will probably have to met through other means including some additional revenues and some additional spending cuts like dropping

Star wars - 10 billion / yr
Nuclear power research 30 billion / yr
Clean coal research 10 billion / yr
Israel military 5 billion / yr

There is another 500 billion over 10 years.

Create single payer health care, save the country at least 200 billion / year.

My point is that it is easy to find cuts good for the country and the world if they only look in the right places, and those places are NOT where they are focused right now.
