It might make the attacks easier to comprehend As a Brit who has been uncomfortably close to more than a couple of terrorist attacks over the years I know the pain and shock they inflict on communities and individuals. I am also aware that the sort of 'spectacular' (as the IRA called them) seen in Oslo take months of planning and usually a dedicated team to execute. Now we have one individual who apparently has managed two in one day. This is quite some performance given that an organisation such as the IRA had decades of practise to perfect their techniques. At the moment the victims families just want comfort but in time if they are anything like people elsewhere in the world they will also want to know the truth about the attacks and whether steps could have been taken to stop then or to mitigate their impact. This is certainly my impression of the feelings of people who lost relatives in the horrific 07/07 attacks in London.
