They have the election thing pretty well under control. Unlimited anonymous corporate contributions. Faith-based voting on unverifiable touch screen or just electronic tabulators that are also suspect. Proprietary voting software written and owned by right-wing corporatists. Suppressing the vote of the disenchanted. A well-managed corporate media that frames election issues in terms favorable to corporate interest. And, finally, they make sure we have nothing but a choice between two fully owned politicians to vote for.
US Uncut (
http://www.usuncut.org/) is one group taking the next step. Who else? Suggestions welcome, I know there are many groups trying to get enough direction and energy to make a difference.
We should be concentrating on direct actions. It's time to be disruptive. I like how the Egyptians did it. Nonviolent but with absolute determination.
The PTB care more about our labor and our spending that they care about our vote. They also care about civil order, about everything being nice and orderly, they don't like messes or disruptions. Hell, they don't even want to have to look at or hear most of us. Showing up will be half of the battle.
It's time for No More Business As Usual. A General Strike. Small but spirited flash protests with well-thought out tactical significance. Off the keyboards and into the streets.
We can see what road we're on now, and it's not going anywhere we want to go. Time to change that. Time to put more energy into threads advocating and organizing action for real change and less energy into threads wallowing in the details of the crimes of the Powers That Be.
