Kerry spent a lot of time defining himself in the primary season. Those positives didn't just evaporate.
It's as simple as this, Democrats will not be able to match Bush spending dollar for dollar from now until November. We were going to have to take some hits here and there at times where the reThugs just outspend the hell out of us. At least it happened in a period where someone (Clarke) was damaging Dumbya.
It could have been a lot worse.
