This is a very big deal, and I'm surprised at the "meh" comments on here - especially from gays.

FRC has been behind every hateful anti-gay movement in this country since 1993, when it was founded. I'm not even gay and I know that much.

In this story, they're being as hypocritical as usual. From the Wikipedia entry on Rekers:

Following the first reports, there were claims that within hours of these reports the Family Research Council had removed the details about Rekers' role as a founder board member from their web site.

They subsequently posted up a release denying any association with Rekers for over a decade, stating that "while it's extremely disappointing when any Christian leader engages in the very activities that they "preach" against, it's not surprising. The Scriptures clearly teach the fallen nature of all people."

Memo to FRC: you can kiss my atheist ass. But only if you bring a credit card.
